While we might all be making a note of the latest pop culture Halloween costumes to try out this year, and which goosebumps-inducing films to download on All Hallows Eve, let's not forget that October will also be a time for the best television comeback -ever.

Okay, maybe not ever but at least in the last 12 months.

That's right, my ghoulish friends, Stranger Things returns on Friday 27 October, and by the looks of the latest teaser trailer, it's going to be a whole lot spookier than the first season.

Over the weekend, the official Stranger Things Twitter account posted a 36-second animated clip to promote the new series in which it outlines the titles for the show's first six episodes:

  • Chapter One: Madmax
  • Chapter Two: Trick or Treat Freak
  • Chapter Three: The Pollywog
  • Chapter Four: Will the Wise
  • Chapter Five: Dig Dug
  • Chapter Six: The Spy

Fans naturally had a lot to say about the episode titles.

So, what does this all mean?

Will Eleven turn into some sort of Mad Max Imperator Furiosa 2.0? Has Will's time in the Upside Down turned him into a brainiac? Will Chief Hopper become a spy in the alternate universe?

Unsurprisingly, the show is staying pretty schtum about what to expect from Eleven and the gang and have decided to leave out the final three chapter titles from the teaser.

But, when it comes to the mastermind duo behind the show, the Duffer brothers, when do they ever play by the rulebook?

Someone grab the Eggo Waffles. The countdown is on.
