Yara Shahidi is the 17 year-old we wish we had been.

Whilst we were trying to swindle WKDs and wearing lipstick so light it might as well have been tip-ex, Shahidi is all class, with not a badly lit selfie in sight.

The actress has gotten into Harvard, where she will rub shoulders with Malia Obama and already has her own spin-off show (Grown-ish).

Add onto this the fact that the girl is wise beyond her years (her perspective on failure blew our minds: 'I think ultimately, the goal is not to say failure gets easier, failure gets more fun, falling is the best thing ever') and we're knee-deep in a girl crush. Knee-deep we tell you.

Now the half Iranian-American and African-American actress has spoken out as to why she isn't seen out with any love interests.

In fact, it's the most practical reason ever not to date. She told Seventeen magazine:

I haven't dated anybody. My general outlook is if I don't have time to take a bath on a regular basis, then I don't have time for another human. I love being busy, and I enjoy where I am at right now.

We actually love that bath time is a valid way to measure relationship priorities. In fact, we can't think why we haven't been using bathing as the ultimate metric for free time. Our girl crush has is now deeper than the deepest bubble bath.
