Adam Driver might be in a bit of trouble for dropping what could be a bombshell more explosive than Prue Leith's recent Great British Bake-Off blunder.

The Girls actor and all-round baddie Kylo Ren in Star Wars might have just let slip the identity of fellow Force-feeler Rey.

Let us warn you now, potential spoilers lie ahead, so don't go crying to us when you find out something you don't want to.

In the last film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens we met Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, though we didn't know that much about her. Abandoned by her parents, she is introduced as a scavenger on Jakku and we also learn that she is incredibly Force-sensitive. In fact, the last film concludes with Rey meeting Luke Skywalker, the Jedi whose lightsaber called to Rey.

We also meet Kylo Ren, who has turned to the dark side, despite actually being the son of General Leia and Hans Solo. This means his real name is Ben Solo, and that he is therefore the nephew of Luke Skywalker and Grandson of Anakin Skywalker, a.k.a Darth Vader.

In the most recent trailer for the new Star Wars episode, The Last Jedi we found that there appeared to be a mysterious bond between Kylo Ren and Rey, and now Driver might have spilled the beans as to what their relationship is.

In a new interview with GQ, the ex-Marine explained how he saw his role in the sequel as being one that has layers:

I remember the initial conversations about having things 'skinned,' peeling away layers to evolve into other people, and the person Kylo's pretending to be on the outside is not who he is. He's a vulnerable kid who doesn't know where to put his energy, but when he puts his mask on, suddenly, he's playing a role. [Force Awakens director] J.J. [Abrams] had that idea initially and I think [Last Jedi director] Rian [Johnson] took it to the next level.

So far so safe, but then the 33 year-old went on to discuss another person's special identity:

You have, also, the hidden identity of this princess who's hiding who she really is so she can survive and Kylo Ren and her hiding behind these artifices.

The journalist from the article assumed he was referring to Rey, thus revealing that Rey is his sister, Rey Solo, daughter of General (/Princess) Leia and Han Solo, granddaughter of Dark Knight Darth Vader and niece of Jedi master Luke Skywalker.

Obviously the internet has something to say about this revelation, with many loosing their minds over the concept.

However, others have pointed out that Driver could, instead, be talking about Carrie Fisher's character Leia, who had to hide her identity as the daughter of Darth Vader.

Well, we suppose we're going to have to wait until 15th December to find out.
