A new day heralds a new Taylor Swift fan theory, doesn't it?

With the release of the new album track list we expect nothing less from the Swifties than full-blown manic hysteria.

And boy, have they delivered. The rumour mill has gone into overdrive as to what the new songs could be about.

We already reported that there is some speculation surrounding a possible Selena Gomez collab, despite her name being firmly off the track list (unlike Ed Sheeran and Future).

Now the mega-fans of Twitter are delving deeper and getting their collective detecting on.

The fifteenth and last track of Reputation is called 'New Year's Day' and is garnering most of the attention.

One theory is all about good old Harry Style. Yep, people are still talking about Harry Styles and Taylor Swift. Still.

If you can, try and think back to 2012, when Taylor and Harry were bright young things, seen out and about in New York in October. Next came a rumoured 'almighty row', and the pair were said to have broken up, resulting in the infamous shot of Swift looking sad on a boat. Alone.

We thought this break-up was documented well enough in 1989, alas, her fans think not, suggesting this song is about one thing and one things only, Haylor.

Next up of the list of bizarre theories is that this song is actually set to be the official engagement announcement of Taylor Swift and British beau Joe Alwyn.

Why? We aren't totally sure. But plenty of Swifties were talking on social media about it.

Here are a couple more bits of speculation to truly whet you appetite. One heralding the continuation of the infamous Perry-Swift feud, because, why the hell not?

And here's another about specific text placement.

Petty, Swift fans? Never.

Let the confusing speculation continue. Heck, it could be totally true.
