Emma Stone's epic portrayal of precocious Olive Penderghast in Easy-A was the breakout role that had us singing, 'I gotta pocket, gotta pocket full of sunshine…' until the cows came home.

The actresses' comedic timing and audacious attitude was ideal for the role and, to be honest, we couldn't imagine it any other way.

But then we learned that Jennifer Lawrence also auditioned for the part and our brains practically exploded with the game-changing information.

During the recent THR actress roundtable with Lawrence, Stone Saoirse Ronan, Allison Janney, Jessica Chastain and Mary J. Blige, close pals Lawrence and Stone revealed they both went for the same important role.

When asked their favourite lines from any movie they've been in, Stone responded, '"Piss off, Quiznos." That's from Easy A. I shove a Quiznos guy and say, "Piss off, Quiznos.'''

Janney responded, 'That's awesome. I just watched it last night.'

And then J-Law swooped in all casual saying, 'I auditioned for Easy A. I wanted it so bad.'

And then our hearts stopped and we died and now this is our ghost self writing this article.

The idea of Lawrence being Olive makes us think a whole load of things...

Like what would have been Stone's breakout role if she hadn't got Easy-A? Or would she never have got a big break at all? Nah...

Would Lawrence have made the film such a hit and therefore would she have not have become the Lady Lawrence we know and love? These are the questions people.

Thankfully, things happened as they did and the Universe did its job at ensuring both artists got the break they deserved, but by golly that was a close one.

Stone reacted in the gracious and mature fashion of an Oscar-winning thespian, telling Lawrence, 'Well, guess what? You didn't get it. You didn't get it because you suck!'

Ahh, friendship.
