Although season one memorably centered on the suicide of Langford's character Hannah Baker, it has been confirmed that she will appear in season two. 'Hannah's story is still very much not finished,' showrunner Brian Yorkey has told The Hollywood Reporter. 'She's an integral part of whatever the next chapter of the story is, and she's very much still at the centre of it.'

Several new actors have joined the cast of season two, which will explore some other characters' perspectives on Hannah's story, and will also focus on Jessica (Alisha Boe) dealing with the aftermath of being raped by Bryce (Justin Prentice). The new season will also feature a brand new narrator, now that Hannah's tapes have concluded.

Filming on the second season of 13 Reasons Why wrapped this month, and the new season is due on Netflix in 2018.
