Hours after actress Katherine Langford earned a Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Hannah Baker in 13 Reasons Why, executive producer Selena Gomez took to Instagram to congratulate the Australian star.

In a post to Instagram, the 'Bad Liar' singer captioned a snap of her snuggling up to Langford on the red carpet with the words: 'AND to this gorgeous, kind hearted lady. You endured this character with such strength and softness.

'@katherinelangford I am so proud you are being acknowledged for doing just that! GOLDEN GLOBE NOMINEE!!! Ladies are shining!'

Gomez - who signed onto produce her 'passion project' in 2015 - also posted a photograph of a series of polaroids with the cast of the hit Netflix show, along with the message: 'And this year wraps up with another committed journey with @13reasonswhy - Season 2 is coming.

'To every person on this project, thank you for coming back. Good or bad we are committed to having the tough conversations, to telling the story that can start change.'

Langford (Hannah Baker), Dylan Minnette (Clay Jensen), and Christian Navarro (Tony Padilla) were just a few of the show's stars who appeared in the sweet pictures.

Celebrating the end-of-season wrap up party, Gomez also posted several videos to Instagram of the cast and crew enjoying a meal together, marking the end of an era.

Earlier this year, the 25-year-old singer opened up about the show's dark themes and content, defending the series for talking honestly and openly about mental health.

In an interview on the Elvis and Duran and the Morning Show, she explained: 'I feel like if this is what we're going to talk about, we might as well as do it in a way that's honest, is real, and stays true to the book.

'So all the questions that came up, and all the talk about it is valid and I understand it. That stuff is uncomfortable for people to talk about, but it is happening and hopefully, it opened the door for people to actually accept what's happening and actually go and change it, talk about it.'

Gomez's celebrations for the end of Season 2 of the show comes after she revealed her next album will be out 'very soon'.

'There is no 'might,' there is an album,' Selena said during an interview on Radio 1 with Nick Grimshaw on Monday.

'I think it's fair to say that people know the year I've had, and I've poured my heart into my music and I wanted it to be fresh. It wasn't really about charts for me, or numbers. It was more just about, what could I creatively do for my music. So, yes, I can successfully say that my inspiration for this next album is in full motion and it will be very soon.'

Let the countdown commence.
