It was only a week ago that Kensington Palace confirmed that Meghan Markle would be breaking royal tradition and joining the monarchy in Sandringham this Christmas with her fiancé, Prince Harry.
And now, Prince William and Kate Middleton have reportedly asked the newly-engaged couple to spend the holiday period with them at their nearby home, Anmer Hall.
US Weekly reports the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be hosting the 36-year-old and Harry over the holiday season, with Entertainment Tonight adding that the pair might be staying with the royals as early as Christmas eve so they can watch Prince George and Princess Charlotte 'open their stockings from Santa on Christmas morning'.
Both couples are still expected to make an appearance at Sandringham on Christmas Day, almost a month after Markle and Prince Harry announced their engagement.
In the couple's first interview, Markle called the duchess 'wonderful' and praised her and Prince William for their 'fantastic support'.
Meanwhile, the mother-of-two gushed about the engagement news, telling news reporters the day after the announcement: 'William and I are absolutely thrilled.
'It's such exciting news. It's a really happy time for any couple and we wish them all the best and hope they enjoy this happy moment.'
It was recently revealed that Meghan and Harry will marry on 19 May 2018 at Windsor Castle.
