At this year's Golden Globes, commencing on Sunday Night, there is set to be a spectacle of female empowerment.

Last month Us Weekly reported that the female attendees were planning to wear all black on the red carpet, to protest sexual harassment against women.

Now it has been announced by The Hollywood Foreign Press Association that actresses such as Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie, Helen Mirren and Emma Stone will all be presenting at the prestigious awards show.

Aniston and Jolie both share an ex in Brad Pitt, and are rarely seen at the same events, however this event is clearly different.

Jolie, 42, was one of the many women who publicly spoke out against exiled Hollywood execiutive Harvey Weinstein, saying, 'I had a bad experience with Harvey Weinstein in my youth, and as a result, chose never to work with him again and warn others when they did,' Jolie told The New York Times, 'This behaviour towards women in any field, any country is unacceptable.

Clearly similarly passionate about gender equality 48 year-old Aniston recently donated around £369,200 to the Time's Up GoFundMe campaign, a fund born out of the #MeToo movement that will subsidise legal defence for those who sussed sexual abuse, harassment or assault in the workplace.

In 2005, Pitt left Aniston for Jolie and famously posed for a fashion spread with his new girlfriend for W magazine before his divorced was finalised.

Aniston told Vanity Fair at the time how hurt and confused she was by the ending of the relationship and his subsequent actions, 'There's a sensitivity chip that's missing, but it's not my life. He makes his choices. He can do - whatever. We're (soon to be) divorced and you can see why.'

After Jolie revealed details about the beginning of her and Pitt's relationship in Vogue in 2007 (the pair met whilst filming Mr & Mrs Smith) Aniston said in the same magazine a year later, 'What Angelina did was very uncool.' she explained, 'There was stuff printed there that was definitely from a time when I was unaware that it was happening. I felt those details were a little inappropriate to discuss.'

Since then Aniston has married actor and writer Justin Theroux whilst Pitt and Jolie have continued to adopt and have biologically six children, though recently filed for divorce.

The two women's previous issues are clearly water under the bridge, particularly now the women of Hollywood have such a rallying cry to help them unite.
