Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas had kept their relationship—and how it started—largely under the wraps. But mutual friend Hailee Steinfeld will publicly take some credit for setting them up. 'Oh yeah,' she said during an interview on Nova 96.9's Smallzy's Surgery show today when asked whether she considers herself a bit of a matchmaker. 'I mean, I will say, I did get that text from Sophie being like, 'So tell me about Joe,' and I was like 'Go for it!''

Turner is a 'really good friend' of Steinfeld, while Jonas and Steinfeld collaborated on a song together with Jonas's band DNCE, 'Rock Bottom.' The fact that Turner and Jonas actually worked so well is something that still blows Steinfeld's mind. 'I actually just saw them both for the first time since they got engaged; I saw them together,' Steinfeld said during her interview. 'And yeah, I mean, I'm freaking out about it.'

Turner and Jonas first started dating in 2016. They announced their engagement in October 2017. In May last year, Turner made her first public remarks about Jonas, telling InStyle that she prefers to 'keep things [in our relationship] pretty private.'

'I found it easier to date someone who understands the industry or is in that world,' she did admit. 'You realise that you're not going to see each other all the time. And you don't feel like a jerk when you're like, 'My publicist says I can't do this…''
