Gwyneth Paltrow is excited about planning her upcoming wedding to Brad Falchuk, because it will be the first time she'll walk down the aisle in front of friends and family.

The actress - who recently confirmed her engagement to TV writer Falchuk - previously eloped with ex-husband Chris Martin back in 2003, when they were expecting their first child together.

It had been reported at the time that the pair tied the knot without family present, and shortly afterwards they received their marriage license at the Santa Barbara County courthouse.

So Paltrow has revealed she can't wait to do it more traditionally this time around, telling People: 'I'm excited about everything!

'I've never had a wedding before! So even though I'm 45, I sort of feel like a 21-year-old.'

Although the couple have yet to make formal plans for their big day, the star is having fun coming up with ideas with her friends.

'It's kind of fun to talk about with my girlfriends,' Paltrow went on. 'They send me pictures of dresses - they're as excited about it as I am. It's pretty cute.'

She also revealed she and Falchuk share the same outlook on life, adding: 'I think we have similar philosophies about taking care of ourselves and trying to be happy, like exercising and eating good food.'

The pair confirmed their engagement on Good Morning America, releasing the statement: 'We feel incredibly lucky to have come together at this juncture in our lives when our collective successes and failures can serve as building blocks for a healthy and happy relationship.'

The couple then shared the happy news on the cover of Paltrow's lifestyle publication Goop.
