If there's one thing we know about comedian-turned-presenter Ellen DeGeneres - other than the fact she's cute, caring and blummin' hilarious - is that she's a giver.
Whether it's a flat screen television, a meet-and-greet opportunity between fans and their favourite celebrities, or scholarships for university, the Californian-based star proves time and time again the enormous size of her heart.
But, to celebrate her 60th birthday this year, her wife Portia de Rossi felt it was time DeGeneres was treated to one of the best gifts in the world.
During Thursday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, actress Portia presented Ellen with what was later deemed by the presenter 'the greatest gift I've ever been given'.
Shocked to see her wife appear on set, DeGeneres sat down with de Rossi to hear the news.
'It's your 60th birthday and this gift had to be really special and it had to represent who you are and what you really care about,' de Rossi began. 'Not just now, but what you've always cared about. What you were influenced by and what has made you the amazing person that you are today.'
Ellen's wife then showed a clip to the audience that gave the history of one of DeGeneres's longtime heroes, late conversationalist and animal activist Dian Fossey.
Before her untimely death in 1985, Fossey was known for her extensive research of mountain gorillas, and for establishing the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund.
'For your birthday, Ellen, I am bringing you and your hero, Dian, together by building The Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund," de Rossi announced.
Of course, it didn't take long before DeGeneres was in floods of tears.
'Ellen, you will carry on Dian's legacy by giving them a permanent home in Rwanda,' de Rossi added. 'Now, you will join Dian as a protector and champion of these amazing animals, the mountain gorillas. Happy birthday!'
We're already in tears.
