It's widely understood that, while there's no royal protocol that forbids Kate Middleton and Prince William from engaging in public displays of affection, the pair opt not to, given their official role as working representatives of British Monarchy.

And while the pair are occasionally seen giving each other a helping hand, touching each other's arms affectionately, and enjoying the odd embrace here and there, the duo have practically never been seen enjoying a real PDA/couple moment.
Unlike Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of late who can't seem to keep their newly-engaged hands off each other during public events.
However, a never-before-seen picture of the Duke and Duchess Cambridge hugging has emerged and, let's just say we couldn't love the snap much more.
Gifted to the King and Queen of Norway during their stay in Oslo last week, the snap was taken by photographer Chris Jackson and shows the royal duo wrapping their arms around each other.
The pair even signed their names on the photograph which sees Kate rest her left hand on William's chest and the Duke rest his left hand on the lower part of his wife's back.
Journalist Simon Perry took a photograph of the gifts table at the Norwegian Royal Palace and captioned the shot: 'This has been floating around Twitter and it was fantastic to see that the official portrait I took was presented as a gift to the King and Queen of Norway during the Cambridge's Scandinavian Royal Tour.'
Royal fans loved the picture, with one writing commenting 'amazing and lovely portrait'. Another wrote: 'Such a beautiful photo Chris!!! I hope William and Kate will release it one day.'
Meanwhile others wondered whether the snap was part of the couple's Christmas photo shoot with Prince George and Princess Charlotte given Kate's light blue tailored jacket and skirt which features in both photoshoots.
Last week, William and Kate enjoyed a royal Scandinavian tour of Norway and Sweden.
