Zayn Malik has melted a million hearts in one fell swoop by announcing that he has recorded a song completely in Hindi.

The Bradford-born singer spoke to ELLE India about his future music plans, explaining he has recorded a song for a Bollywood film, 'It's one of the first songs I've sung in full Hindi, so it's going to be cool to see what the response to that is.'

It's unclear as to which film he is referring to, but fans are excited nonetheless.

Many took to Twitter to express their joy at the prospect of Malik crooning in Hindi.

The 25 year-old detailed in his interview his love of Bollywood films, having watched them when he was a kid, 'Before I can even remember… [Bollywood films were] on the TV. Bollywood is so impeccable. If you ever get a chance to watch a good Bollywood movie, watch Devdas!'

The 'Pillowtalk' singer gave more inside details about his multi-cultural musical taste to the magazine, telling them he has dipped into his Pakistani roots again for his next album, 'There's definitely a lot of Urdu; some nice qawwali sounds. There might even be some bhangra vibes. I have worked with AR Rahman on one song.'

Malik's father is Pakistani and Malik has been vocal about his multi-cultural and Muslim upbringing, having his father's name tattooed on his neck and posting about celebrating Muslim holidays.

Most recently the ex One Directioner was snapped with his mother, girlfriend Gigi Hadid and her mother Yolanda as they celebrated Eid Mubarak.

Model Hadid's father is a Palestinian Muslim and the young couple have continuously and publicly celebrated their faiths and racial heritage.
