Days after Kim Cattrall criticised 'cruel' Sarah Jessica Parker for sending condolences after her brother's recent death, actress Molly Shannon has come to SJP's defence, describing her as 'supportive and so wonderful'.
Having worked with Parker on the hit HBO show Divorce, Shannon revealed she wasn't aware of Cattrall's post but was quick to speak up to support her colleague.
'I didn't read about that,' Shannon said regarding Cattrall's Instagram post, reports the BBC. 'But I know, for me, Sarah is just so supportive and so wonderful and we just get along so well.
'It doesn't really feel like work because we have so much in common, and she loves funny women and is just so genuinely supportive and kind, and, like, a girls' girl.'
In the interview with Entertainment Tonight from New York Fashion Week, Shannon called the Sex and The City star 'Hollywood royalty', days after Cattrall rejected her co-stars messages of love, writing that Parker was 'exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your "nice girl" persona.'
In the post, the 61-year-old wrote to SJP: 'Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven't already) You are not my family. You are not my friend.'
The actress also captioned the post with a link to a New York Post article from 2017 about the 'Mean Girls culture' among the SATC stars.
Despite Cattrall's candid words about SJP in the post, she had a dramatically different reaction to her former co-star Cynthia Nixon's condolences following the death of her brother, Chris.
'Cynthia, hearing your voice meant so much to me. Thank you for reaching out,' Cattrall posted on her Instagram - suggesting Nixon had called her rather than posting on social media.
Cattrall's brother had been missing for several days in Alberta, Canada before being found dead on Sunday 4 February.
