Selena Gomez Is Reportedly Trying To Convince Mother To Accept Relationship With Justin Bieber

Days after she was spotted on a mini staycation with her on/off boyfriend Justin Bieber in Laguna Beach, Selena Gomez is now reportedly trying to convince her mother to accept her relationship with the singer.

Since rekindling their romance in November 2017, Selena and her mother, Mandy Teefey, have reportedly endured a rocky relationship with the pair unfollowing each other on social media and Teefey calling out her daughter's decision to work with director Woody Allen.

However, it sounds like the 'Wolves' singer is trying to make amends with her mum after recently re-following each other on Instagram.

A source told Hollywood Life: 'Selena is still trying to convince her mom that Justin has changed for the better. There is still animosity there and her mum hasn't turned a full leaf and accepted the relationship.'

'It is certainly better but it seems it's going to still take some time for her mum to change her thoughts on Justin.

'She still is in protect Selena mode and she always will be, but Justin isn't out of the woods just yet as her mum still needs much more convincing things have really changed for the better.'

The Daily Mail reports 13 Reasons Why co-producer Mandy recently claimed she hasn't spoken to Justin in 'years', and admitted she is 'not happy' with the relationship.

However, the proud mum also said her daughter - who just stepped out at NYFW with a Noughties-inspired fringe - is old enough now to make her own decisions when it comes to her love life.

'Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe and healthy,' she said.

'She is 25 years old and knows what is at stake with her health. I do not control her the way it has been portrayed. Selena is an adult and can make her own choices.'

Gomez and Bieber were recently spotted enjoying a quick getaway to the coast before the Texan-born beauty flew to New York to attend the Coach AW18 presentation.

Her boyfriend, meanwhile, was spotted on a walk with his pastor Carl Lentz on Tuesday in the Hollywood Hills.
