If you've ever dreamt of your other half getting down on one knee and presenting you with a halved avocado - a diamond ring smushed into its core - we have two things to tell you.

Firstly, you're weird AF and need to dream bigger.

Secondly, you're actually in luck because avocados are now becoming a 'thing' for green fruit-loving wedding proposals.

Instagram account Food Deco recently posted a photo of an engagement ring perched inside half an avocado just before Valentine's Day.

They captioned the snap: 'Tag someone who should propose like this.'

And while we thought it was a joke because, come on, who really wants their future husband/wife to get down on one knee and present them with a small vegetable, it appears some social media users can't get enough of the idea.

'Nothing would make me happier than someone putting a ring in an avocado and proposing to me!' one person commented.

Another wrote: 'If I ever get married, tell my boo this.'

Others pointed out that the ring would be covered in slime after sitting in an avocado.

Not. Pretty.

However, it appears the bizarre 'avocado proposal' trend has caught on for some people:

But while the thought of being proposed to with an avocado makes us feel a bit queasy, at least it'd be killing two birds with one stone - having a sparkly diamond and a snack.

If your other halves know you well, ladies, they'll know to bring snacks to such an important day.
