Mel C has dashed our hopes and dreams of a Spice Girls reunion at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's upcoming wedding by denying Mel B's claims that the girl group have been invited.

The singer also added that there were no plans for a Spice Girl performance at the royal reception either.

While attending The Prince's Trust Awards hosted by Prince Charles in London last night, Mel C joked that perhaps her invitation had been lost in the post after the recent snowy weather.

'Oh yes there's been quite a lot of press interest there, my invite hasn't turned up yet,' she told E!.

'It was all that snow. I think the mail's been a bit held up in the snow.'

She then went on to clarify: 'I think [Mel B] was joking. I think the media ran with it a little bit.'

The star was referring to Mel B's recent appearance on US chat show The Real, during which Mel appeared to coyly confirm that she had received an invite for the royal wedding.

She said: 'I am going,' before admonishing herself and adding: 'I'm not sure if I should have said that, live on camera!'

When quizzed on the invitation by the show's host Loni Love, the singer said: 'Us five Spice Girls [Mel, Emma Bunton, Mel C, Geri Horner and Victoria Beckham] did [get an invite]....'

She then argued that it was 'too personal' to reveal any more details regarding her 'golden' invitation, but did claim it had arrived in a 'proper box'.

Mel B also alluded that the group would be performing at the reception when asked by presenter Love whether that could be a possibility.

She responded dramatically: 'I need to go... I'm going to be fired!'

The Spice Girls recently confirmed they had reformed, with VB sharing a picture of the nineties girl group posing together - marking their first reunion since 2012.

She then added another one of the band with their former manager Simon Fuller.

Discussing their rumoured reunion at last night's royal event, Mel C was unconvinced, telling The Sun: 'I don't think you'll be seeing the Spice Girls on stage this year...

'We're all just dead busy. So if anything were to happen, it wouldn't be now.'

We think that's called letting us down gently...
