While we might have been looking to the likes of Margot Robbie, Lupita Nyong'o and Danai Gurira for our red carpet make-up inspiration at Sunday night's Academy Awards, we may have accidentally overlooked the beauty techniques employed by Hollywood's leading men.

For his first Oscars, Black Panther and Get Out nominated actor Daniel Kaluuya rocked the ceremony's red carpet in a classic bow tie, black trousers and a rich brown-hued velvet suit jacket with black satin lapels.

But little did we know the 29-year-old Brit was also wearing makeup from Rihanna's cosmetics line, Fenty Beauty.

On Monday, Fenty Beauty posted on Twitter and Instagram that Kaluuya's Oscar night make-up artist, Amber Amos, applied shades #480 and #490 of Pro Filt'r to the actor's face.

Last September, Ri-Ri launched the Fenty's 40-shade, cruelty-free foundation range - Pro Filt'r - which continued to be sold-out in Sephoras across the world the second bottles were put out on shelves.

Since learning the news, fans of the actor have taken to Twitter to congratulate Amos and the star on his beautiful face.

Amos explained the process behind creating Kaluuya's red carpet look to Billboard, saying: 'Daniel is so low key [when it comes to red carpet makeup], that every time the goal is to perfect the skin and make him look less tired than he is, because he's doing a lot.'

The make-up artist added that she applied Paula's Choice Lip & Body Treatment Balm, Kiehl's Ultra Oil-Free Toner, and Kate Somerville's Clinic to Go Resurfacing Peel Pads before applying Kiehl's Facial Fuel Eye De-Puffer and moisturiser.

'The most important part is skin prep and making sure his skin is very hydrated because realistically most guys aren't prepping their skin and they don't really have a routine.'

The most important part of Kaluuya's look? 'I want him to go out there and be golden, I want him to glow,' she added.

And glow he did.
