Days after it was rumoured Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have called time on their romance momentarily, it appears the 24-year-old singer is doing all he can to win back the love of his life.

And yes, that includes recreating that pose from Titanic when Jack tells Rose: 'I'm the king of the world.'

This morning, the 'Sorry' singer posted two pictures of himself topless on the beach with his arms spread wide, his eyes closed in contemplation.

The religious star's post has garnered attention from his fans who compare the Canadian to Leonardo DiCaprio's character in Titanic...as well as Jesus.

'You're not Jesus but you're MY God,' wrote one fan on the post.

'Dear Justin I love u like Jack love Rose. I know u hate movies unless they are super romantic but I love u. Sooooo much,' wrote another.

However, the post might have a deeper meaning than you think.

Way back in 2011, on one of their first dates, the then 17-year-old singer took Selena Gomez on an extremely romantic date.

Following a show by Demi Lovato in Los Angeles, Bieber proceeded to book out the whole of the Staples Centre in Los Angeles (which normally seats 20,000 people) for a private screening of Titanic.

Ahead of the date, Justin had a steak and pasta dinner waiting for Selena in the empty mood-lit venue before surprising the Texan singer by playing the 1998 film, reports TMZ.

The star later took to Twitter to give a lesson in love to his fans.

'Romance isn't dead. Treat your lady right, fellas,' he wrote.

Earlier this week, E! news reported that the 24-year-old Canadian and 'Wolves' singer have decided to take some time apart, but are continuing to keep in contact.

'They were having a lot of little disagreements recently and one fight in particular blew up and caused them to decide to "break up", however, they've been in contact the entire time and their feelings for each other have not changed,' a source explained to the news outlet.

Perhaps Bieber's latest romantic gesture will be the catalyst for a reconciliation?
