Prince Harry's Is Reportedly Torn Over Military Uniform Or Morning Dress For Royal Wedding

It's not just Meghan Markle's wedding gown that's being talked about...

While the world continues to dream about what Meghan Markle will wear on her wedding day, royal officials suggest Prince Harry is currently torn over morning dress or military uniform for their upcoming nuptials.

The 33-year-old royal previously attended Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding in 2011 wearing the uniform of a Captain in the Household Cavalry's Blues and Royals.

The Times reports that Harry still holds an affection for his old regiment, after serving in the army for a decade, and being twice deployed to Afghanistan.

But according to military sources, former guards and cavalry officers wearing their uniforms at their wedding is regarded as 'a bit naff' in their social circles.

As a result, experts predict Harry is most likely to wear the uniform of Captain General Royal Marines, which was a role given to him by the Queen in December.

However, royal commentator Alastair Bruce has ruminated that Harry's choice of Windsor Castle as a wedding venue is an indication of a departure from the military pomp of the Duke of Cambridge's wedding.

'I'll buy a marzipan hat and send you a picture of me eating it if he turns out in all the [military] clobber,' Bruce added to The Times.

Royal correspondent Penny Junor told Elle UK: 'My hunch is Harry will wear morning dress because it is going to be relatively low-key, compared with his brother's wedding, and he is no longer a serving officer.

'If he wore uniform it would make the whole thing much more formal and he is essentially a very informal sort of guy.'

Meanwhile, there has been no official conformation on who will be designing Markle's wedding gown, although sketches from Israeli designer Inbal Dror were leaked to TMZ last year.

Ralph & Russo is the latest fashion house to be tipped to be designing the Suits star's dress, reports the publiation. Markle wore a £56,000 Ralph & Russo couture gown for her official engagement photos.

However, it's also been rumoured that Alexander McQueen creative director Sarah Burton and Markle's BFF Roland Mouret might also be in the running to create the bespoke gown.

It's likely that 36-year-old Markle – who recently showed off her new diamond baptism bracelet –will wear an off-white shade, potentially opting for the classic hues of ivory, cream, oyster, and champagne.

The choice of a non-white dress would be in keeping with royal tradition.

It looks like Meghan's not the only one with wedding attire pressure!
