12th March: Selma Blair Says Cameron Diaz Has Retired From Acting: 'She's Like, "I'm Done"'

Farewell a future of There's Something About Mary 2 and Charlie's Angels remakes.

Cameron Diaz is apparently 'done' with Hollywood and is enjoying an early retirement from acting, according to close friend Selma Blair.

The 45-year-old star – married to Good Charlotte's Benji Madden – is reportedly 'happy' since stepping away from the industry, and is busy loving her (as Selma puts it) 'pretty great life'.

Recounting a conversation the actresses were having about their 2002 hit movie The Sweetest Thing, Selma recalled (via the Daily Star): 'I had lunch with Cameron the other day.

'We were reminiscing about the film. I would have liked to do a sequel but Cameron's retired from acting. She's like, "I'm done".'

The Cruel Intentions star added: 'I mean, she doesn't need to make any more films. She has a pretty great life, I don't know what it would take to bring her back. She's happy.'

Cameron's last film role was playing Miss Hannigan in an adaptation of Annie in 2014.

Speaking recently about stepping away from the spotlight in order to take some time for herself and her relationship with Benji, Cameron told Gwyneth Paltrow at her Goop summit (via ET): 'I just went, 'I can't really say who I am to myself.

'Which is a hard thing to face up to. I felt the need to make myself whole.'

On marrying in her 40s, Cameron added: 'I think it's a matter of, I just hadn't met my husband, you know?

'I had boyfriends before. And there's a really, really distinct difference between husbands and boyfriends. And I have a husband who is just my partner in life and in everything.'

She continued: 'We are so different from one another, but we share the same value.

'We're totally two peas in a pod. We are both just weird enough for each other.'

We're feeling 'happy sad' right now. Don't leave us forever, Cam!
