Alicia Vikander basically invented Lip Sync Battle with her flawless performance to a Swedish ballad on a talent show in her native Sweden when she was just eight-years-old.

The Tomb Raider actress was appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon earlier this week when she revealed that organisers of the Oscars had unearthed the footage from 1997 when they were trying to find clips of the star when she was younger.

Back in 2016, Vikander was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in The Danish Girl at the Academy Awards, which she of course went on to win.

Speaking to Fallon about her experience on the Stars in Your Eyes-style show, Småstjärnorna, the 29-year-old actress recalled: 'All the other kids had Tina Turner and Michael Jackson, and I had this Swedish ballad.'

In the clip, a young Vikander is asked what she wants to do when she's older, to which she answers affirmatively: 'I'm going to be an actress.'

When the show's presenter says she thought Vikander wanted to be a singer, Vikander admits: 'It's hard to choose.

'It's gonna be one or the other.'

After lip-syncing passionately to Som by Helen Sjöholm, Vikander wins the top prize and is praised for her 'ability to show big emotions with small means in a magical way'.

The show's judge then predicts: 'I think you are a resident of the stage from now on.'

Graham Norton has previously dug up the classic clip on his chat show too, much to the amusement of Vikander and his fellow guests.

She also chatted to Norton about her role as Lara Croft, and joked that her breasts won't be quite as 'pointy' as they apparently are in the original video game.

'My breasts are not as pointy as the first Lara, but I had a clear vision of how I wanted to play her,' she quipped.

'I was a huge fan as a kid and whilst I was too scared to play the games when I was 10, I learnt all her moves.'

Proof that Vikander was born a star.
