Weeks after her split from Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez is finding time for some well deserved R&R on a private yacht off the coast of Australia.

Yesterday, the 25-year-old was spotted relaxing in a black and orange bikini on the deck of the yacht, which revealed a scar on her inner right thigh from the emergency follow-up operation she had after her 2017 kidney transplant.

This morning, the 'Bad Liar' singer took to Instagram to open up about the world's unrealistic beauty standards and the 'beauty myth' that cripples so many men and women.

In the caption accompanying a video of her hanging out with friends Down Under, the Texas-born star wrote: 'The beauty myth- an obsession with physical perfection that traps modern woman in an endless cycle of hopelessness, self consciousness, and self-hatred as she tries to fulfil society's impossible definition of flawless beauty.

'I chose to take care of myself because I want to, not to prove anything to anyone. Wind in her sails.'

The singer's beautiful words have inspired her fans, with several of them writing to how support to their icon.

'You are beautiful,' wrote one Instagram user. 'You look so happy and healthy. So glad,' wrote another.

The post comes days after Selena's BFF and kidney donor Francia Raisa opened up about the depression both she and the former Disney child star suffered following their operations.

Following their procedures, Selena reportedly began hyperventilating when she found out her new kidney was turning around in her body, she recalled during an interview on the Today show.

Though Selena posted pictures of her actual transplant scar upon announcing she'd had the surgery, snaps of her relaxing on the yacht are the first the world has seen of the scarring.

It is widely believed her thigh scar is likely from removal of the femoral vein to rebuild an arterial connection to the newly transplanted kidney.

We're so happy to see Selena enjoying life on holiday with friends. She looks stunning.
