Over the weekend, we sat in awe as pictures filtered through of Beyoncé and Blue Ivy wearing matching gold gowns to the second annual Wearable Art Gala in Los Angeles.

During the benefit, both the 36-year-old singer and Jay Z's mother, Gloria Carter, were rewarded for their humanitarian work, with the mother-of-three taking to the stage to give an emotional acceptance speech following a video of congratulations from former First Lady Michelle Obama.

While accepting her award, the singer revealed she prefers to keep her charity work quiet because she thinks she should be doing more, and that giving is reward enough.

She also gave a shout out to her mother, Tina Knowles, revealing she should be receiving an award instead, crediting her mother's example as a role model in her life.

In the days since the event, the 'Run The World' star has taken to Instagram to share some adorable snaps of her family night out, including backstage photos of her getting ready with her six-year-old daughter.

For the star-studded party, Beyoncé complemented her blonde hair with a pair of gigantic gold earrings and a gold-tone metallic dress that descended into a gold train.

Meanwhile, her six-year-old daughter matched her goddess-like mother in a dark gold ruffled gown and a gold headpiece.

Following the festivities, a video has emerged of Jay-Z trying to prevent Blue Ivy from bidding on an an acrylic painting of actor Sidney Poitier for a cool £12,000 ($17,000).

The video sees the proud father reaching over and jokingly trying to wrestle the bidding paddle from her hands.

Of course, Twitter couldn't get enough of the sassy move from Blue Ivy.

However, that's not to say that Beyoncé and Jay-Z's eldest child went home empty handed.

On the next item, a piece of art made up of deconstructed law and medical books by artist Samuel Levi Jones, Blue Ivy made the winning bid for £7,110 ($10,000).

What Blue Ivy wants, Blue Ivy gets.
