Since Cynthia Nixon's announced that she is running for New York Governor, there has been a considerable reaction.

Whilst many of us took to social media to bathe in the warm glow of all those Miranda for Governor Sex and the City references, others were not best pleased.

Former New York City Council Speaker, Christine Quinn, who ran against the Nixon-supported Mayor Bill de Blasio, called Cynthia Nixon an 'unqualified lesbian.' Not only does Nixon actually identify as bisexual, but she has been politically active on the issues of public education, LGBT rights, and women's health for years.

Thankfully, Nixon's former co-stars also believe that the Grammy, Emmy and three-time Tony winning actress may just be the perfect woman to knock Gov. Cuomo from his seat.

Kristen Davis, who famously played Charlotte York-Goldenblatt opposite Cynthia Nixon in SATC, took to her social media to support her friend and ex-colleague.

She wrote on her Twitter, 'I am so proud of @CynthiaNixon , no one cares more than she does about EVERY person getting a fair change and a good education. I know that she would be an excellent Governor!'

And Charlotte wasn't the only SATC alum to lend their praise to Nixon. Willie Garson, who played Carrie Bradshaw's long-suffering crutch Stanford Blatch, similarly took to social media to pen his support of Nixon.

Under a clip of Nixon's announcement video he said, 'I cant think of anyone who's more prepared, more caring, more educated on the issues and more READY than @cynthiaenixon....please join her on this journey, together we can turn things around with candidates such as her.'

On top of all this Evan Handler, who played Charlotte's adorable second husband, even suggested that he should join her, joking, 'Has a movement begun…?'

Now we're simply waiting on Carrie and Samantha's reactions…
