Prince George and Princess Charlotte are clearly children after our own heart, as the Duchess of Cambridge has revealed the pair love nothing more than making their own pizza.

Kate was visiting St Luke's Community Centre with Prince William where she was helping prepare food for their upcoming Commonwealth Big Lunch.

Speaking to Commonwealth member Yolanda from Bolivia, the 36-year-old royal said (via Hello!): 'I've done that with George and Charlotte - making pizza dough.

'They love it because they can get their hands messy.'

Kate then repeated to an interpreter at the event: 'I was just saying how I really enjoy making pizza dough with George and Charlotte because they like getting their hands messy.'

Meanwhile Chef Matt Jones, 45, from Seattle, who was at the lunch told BBC news that the day had been 'fantastic'.

'As we got them to decorate our dishes Kate said she cooked with her kids but that it sometimes got a bit messy,' he added.

He disclosed that he was also 'very intrigued' about one of the royal couple's favourite recipes for buttered chicken, which they shared.

This was the last royal duty for Kate as she goes on maternity leave. She and William are expecting their third child in April.

Meanwhile, Kensington Palace confirmed yesterday that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have sent out their invitations for their spring wedding.

Around 600 people have been invited to the service at St George's Chapel and the lunchtime reception at St George's Hall, which is being given by Her Majesty The Queen.

The palace has also confirmed that Harry and Markle will be holding their private reception at Frogmore House given by The Prince of Wales, with invites extending to 200 guests.

The couple will marry at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on 19 May.

We wonder if Charlotte and George are free to cater the event?
