In recent years activewear has moved on a million miles from where it was. Nowadays the design is so covetable we don't just want to wear it to sweat in, we'll happily wear it en route to the gym, in 'fitspiration' posts on social media and even, at least at ELLE HQ, in the office.
The high street has proved that, while we can spend a small fortune on high-tech kit, we don't have to. Stores like Gap and Mango boast high-tech fabrics and pieces that offer comfort while we work, while H&M and New Look offer truly affordable, yet stylish, pieces. Then there's the department stores that hold the niche brands like Lija and StridersEdge, ideal if you want to invest that little bit more on your workout wardrobe.
