Tech Editor Robyn Exton meets the women ruling Silicon Valley

Alexandra Van Houtte is the founder & CEO of Paris based start-up tag-walk.com, the first fashion show and accessory keyword searcher for the New York, Milan, London and Paris shows.

It was launched in April 2016.

My biggest flaw - impatience - led me to my current job

It made me want to find a solution to a problem. As did years of fashion assisting, coffee making, screen-shoting and suitcase packing.

Fashion is a huge worldwide spider web

It's considered a small niche to some but it is in fact it's diverse, forward-thinking, innovative and every season there's a constant turnover of trends which always makes my work interesting.

I alway wanted to be my own boss

And work in fashion.

My parents taught me that the recipe for a good career was to be financially independent from anyone I lived with while working for something I loved and being in 'a power position' to make the decisions - TAGWALK really encompasses all of the above.

Communication is underrated

I really believe that anything can be talked through as long as there is an open dialogue.

Tibetan monks taught me how to meditate

Time out usually happens once a week with friends, good wine and a fun party.

Parisians always make time for music, alcohol and preferably a terrace.

On a healthier side, I meditate 30 minutes every morning the way the Tibetan monks taught me when I went to live with them for 3 weeks.

Quietness is my biggest luxury

I travel once a year to a remote village where there are no cars, no people, no buildings, no WIFI - just nature.

It's a real indulgence and luxury to be able to recentre that way.

Everyone should read...

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne - if you think you can't manage, The Secret usually puts you back in the straight line.

It's about changing your state of mind in order to always know the outcome will be positive.

My mantra is...

'Stay hungry. Stay foolish' or 'Don't believe everything you see. Even salt looks like sugar'.

My favourite emoji is...

The little orange explosion, I use it every time I want to express my genuine enthusiasm and excitement for a good joke, idea, picture, news etc which is pretty much all day every day.

Complete this sentence: I am here to….

Make TAGWALK feel like the little orange explosion emoji.
