The 24-year-old actress is the first of our month of Woman of the Week takeovers.

WHO: She first entered the public’s consciousness, age 9, as Hermione Grainger in the film version of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books – and since then, there’s never been a moment when we didn’t love the actress. Additional roles such as The Perks of Being a Wallflower (one to get the tissues out for) and Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring have only served to confirm Emma’s versatility, but that’s only a small part of the reason she is our Woman of the Week.

WHY: Watson was appointed UN Women Goodwill ambassador in July of this year, and last week, went on to deliver a game-changing speech on feminism at the New York United Nations Headquarters (if you haven’t watched the moving and inspirational speech yet, watch it here). Unsurprisingly, it worked to swiftly rile up a barrage of male supporters, including Jared Leto, Tom Hiddleston, and Douglas Booth (see the full gallery here).

WHAT’S NEXT: The actress is currently working on multiple of film projects with the likes of Ethan Hawke and Daniel Brühl, but is also concentrating on promoting her #HeForShe campaign as well as continuing her work as a UN ambassador.
