Prince George doesn't have to wait too long for his sibling to arrive - the Duchess of Cambridge is due to have her second baby in April, it has been confirmed today.

While the exact date won't be revealed, as was the case with Kate's first pregnancy, April was the presumed month for savvy statesticians who did their sums when her second was announced on 8 September.

‘Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in April 2015,' ran the short statement from Kensington Palace this morning.

‘The Duchess of Cambridge continues to be affected by hyperemesis gravidarum, but her condition is steadily improving.’

Kate has had to cancel a number of recent official engagements due to her persistant severe morning sickness, but it is understood that she will is now well enough to resume work, and will join Prince William in welcoming the President of Singapore, Tony Tan, and his wife on a four-day visit to the UK tomorrow.
