Yesterday, ELLE's Editor-in-Chief Lorraine Candy expressed our disappointment that Prime Minister, David Cameron, had refused to either call himself a feminist, or wear the This is What a Feminist Looks Liket-shirt we redesigned for the Fawcett Society, created in association with Whistles.

Our aim in revealing this rejection from the PM wasn’t to browbeat David Cameron into wearing a slogan T-shirt, but to highlight that in the run-up to 2015's general election, the Prime Minister may not be as engaged in issues of equality as we would hope. Proving our point,  today, The World Economic Forum announced that for the first time, the UK hasn't made its top 20 most gender equal countries in the world. We think this is unacceptable.

The feminist message is simple: it is one of equality. If you believe men and woman should have the same rights, be paid fairly and equally, have the same access to eduction, be properly represented in parliament, you may well be a feminist. You don't have to wear a T-shirt, but we will be.

Buy your This is What a Feminist Looks Like’ t-shirt here, 100% of the profits go to the Fawcett Society.
