Space: boundless and awe-inspiring. Does director Christopher Nolan succeed in his epic intergalactic portrayal? The answer is yes.

In a world where humankind’s gradual destruction of the planet has taken its toll and resources are dwindling, a team of brazen explorers (Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway) go in search of new habitats and possibilities.

The result? The viewer is certainly not left disappointed with Nolan’s ambitious efforts: gratifying performances from the two main stars, as well as from Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine and Casey Affleck; breathtaking panorama views of outer space (at times the visuals are so immersive the audience wonders if their seat has been ejected), and a soaring original theme from Hans Zimmer (previous credits include Nolan’s Inception and Ridley Scott’s Gladiator).

The film presents as slightly mind-boggling, but overall, thought-provoking and cinematically astounding.
