Now that the supermarket sweep style shopping sprees that were Cyber Monday and Black Friday are over, it’s time to give a little back. #GivingTuesday is the global day of giving that inspires creativity with its guideline free approach to charitable contributions.

In need of some inspiration on how you can get involved? Carey Mulligan was among the hundreds of #GivingTuesday supporters to tweet an #unselfie of herself, posing with a sign held in front of her face with a hand-written note of support for the charity War Child. More than 550 supporters sent out a digital Thunderclap - a simultaneous message on Facebook and Twitter – which reached more than 3.3million people.

This year, Charities Aid Foundation launched the campaign in the UK, with support from software provider Blackbaud. ‘We are very proud to have helped bring #GivingTuesday to the UK for the first time this year,’ said John Low, Chief Executive of the Charities Aid Foundation, said. ‘The enthusiasm for this idea has surpassed all our expectations with more than 800 business and charity partners inspiring people across the country to do something for a good cause today. People in Britain are among the most generous on earth. It's always humbling to see people rallying round good causes.’
