Superfans of the James Bond franchise will already be aware that the 24th installment is now getting underway. But how does your 007 knowledge measure up to the just-released facts?

Here are the 10 things to memorise now.

1.     Sam Mendes returns to direct the latest film. His masterful work on Skyfall helped make it the highest grossing film of all time in the UK. (No pressure, then.)

2.     The film's title is SPECTRE, which stands for the Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion. You can see why they opted for the acronym.

3.     The gist: the film follows Bond on a mission to uncover a sinister organisation after receiving a cryptic message from his past.

4.     Daniel Craig fans rejoice: He’s back.

5.     Also reprising her role is Naomie Harris, who made her Bond debut as Eve Moneypenny in Skyfall.

6.     The newbies: Monica Bellucci (Lucia Sciarra), Christoph Waltz (Oberhauser), David Bautista (Mr. Hinx) and Léa Seydoux (Madeleine Swann).

7.     Ernst Stavro Blofeld is the yet-to-be-cast, cat-loving, scarred up super-villain. You'll remember the character from the Dr. No and Thunderball movies, as well as You Only Live Twice, On Her     Majesty's Secret Service, Diamonds Are Forever and For Your Eyes Only.

8.     The Bondmobile will be an Aston Martin DB10, which has been created exclusively for the film.

9.     Morocco, Austria, Mexico and Italy make up the main locations.

10.  Filming commences on Monday, 8 December 2014.

Plus, a bonus number 11 – SPECTRE is due to be released in the UK on 6 November, 2015. Mark it in your diaries now.
