In a rare move, the Duchess of Cambridge has recorded a public video in support of the first Children's Mental Health Week.

'A child's mental health is just as important as their physical health and deserves the same quality of support,' says a visibily pregnant Kate in the clip.

'No one would feel embarrassed about seeking help for a child if they broke their arm; and we really should be equally ready to support a child coping with emotional difficulties.'

Kate - who is expecting her second child in April - made the short film for Place2Be, one of a number of children's charities of which she is a patron.

It aims to highlight the struggles some young people face with a dedicated week of awareness raising, starting today.
