If you felt a rumbling in the depths of your soul last night, like some kind of deep and dark magic had taken place, then that would probably be thanks to Madonna and Taylor Swift, who surprised the celebrity-studded iHeartRadio Music Awards last night with a totally unexpected joint performance.

That's right - actual Madonna and actual Taylor Swift both on stage. Together as one. Both wearing thigh high stockings and generally creating so much girl power that we're surprised the stage didn't implode.

The power pair gave an unannounced joint performance of Madonna's song 'Ghost Town', with her Madgesty on vocals and her Swiftesty strumming away on her guitar with so much emotion that it will make you sweat a bit.

Naturally the whole thing made Twitter have a bit of a meltdown because social media doesn't deal very well with unexpected shock performances, especially when they involve Madonna.

And we're not just saying it's good because it's frickin' Madonna and frickin' Taylor Swift, it's genuinely a brilliant performance that didn't involve any men dressed as goats ripping off any killer capes.

Have a watch of Madge and Taylor sending the rest of the music industry home in the video below:
