Keep your eyes peeled for the new Fifty Shades of Grey book turning up on an eBay page near you at some point, because days after the announcement of its release, the book has been stolen.

It was revealed just last week that EL James would be publishing Grey, a re-telling of the story from Christian's perspective.

But seeing as fans are so very keen to discover what's really going on inside his head while he's stroking a feather duster, the garden hose and a whisk over your boobs, and to find out once and for all whether he really does have the emotional capability of an old sock, the finished book has now gone missing.

Even the police are involved with the dramatic theft, and according to the Mirror, an official investigation has been launched admid fears that the story could be sold to the highest bidder on the black market, before its officially scheduled release on 18 June.

Don't worry too much about it though, because it sounds like the printers aren't all that bothered. A spokeswoman for CPI UK confirmed it is printing Grey: Fifty Shades of Grey As Told by Christian, but said: 'I doubt it's gone missing from one of our printworks seeing as I haven't heard about it.'

Oh.

While the press release on the book didn't give too much away, EL James did reveal: 'Readers have always been fascinated by his desires and motivations, and his troubled past. Also, as anyone who has ever been in a relationship knows, there are two sides to every story.'

Has anyone checked where Anastasia's inner goddess was at the time of the theft? We know she's usually dancing the time warp or doing the cha cha, but it's highly possible that she's responsible for this escapade.
