Jennifer Lawrence is on course to be paid $20 million for her latest film – $8m more than than her male co-star, Chris Pratt.

The pair will earn a total $32m for their leading roles in sci-fi romance Passengers, The Hollywood Reporter revealed, which is due to start filming this September. 

Pratt's fee was increased from $10m following the early success of Jurassic World at the box office, but it's 24-year-old Oscar winner Lawrence's cut that caught our attention, especially as Passengers is a Sony Pictures project. Sony were also behind American Hustle, which came under fire when leaked emails revealed that the two female leads, Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams, were paid less than their male counterparts

Whatever the reason, we're glad to see Hollywood finally addressing the gender pay gap. Though, personally, we wouldn't balk at $12m…
