An Emoji Movie Is Genuinely Set To Happen To The World

Praise hands, party popper, thumbs up

As if the promise of unicorn and cheese weren't enough to get your emoji-loving juices flowing ferociously, it's been reported by Deadline that an actual, genuine, real life EMOJI MOVIE is set to happen to the world.

No you're not caught up in some crazy, realistic lucid dream - we do honestly mean an entire feature length film based on all those little yellow-faced emojis is on its way to Hollywood, and may even include an appearance from the dancing twins if we're extra lucky.

Praise hands, party popper, thumbs up? Or maybe horrified face, girl with crossed arms, monkey with hands over eyes. Or maybe just the aubergine because that's always a good choice.

It might sound entirely ridiculous, but sources claim that there was a genuine bidding war between three major studios to land the rights to make the emoji film, which was eventually won by a pitch from Sony Pictures and the guys who directed Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Masters. It's kind of a big deal.

If any of the casting directors happen to be reading, we'd like to suggest Penelope Cruz for the role of red salsa dancing emoji lady, please. Maybe Mary Kate and Ashley as the dancing twins? Oooh and Jennifer Lawrence as the super sassy girl in pink. Thank us later.
