Cara Delevingne could have gone anywhere and done anything for her 23rd birthday but her BFF Suki Waterhouse knew that a glamorous bash involving a posh hotel, private jet or super yacht would not impress the fun-loving model turned actress turned professional shade-thrower, so she flew in to Toronto where Cara is currently filming Suicide Squad for a hot mess of a birthday party at a strip club in the city’s gay village.

My spy in Toronto tells me:

‘Giiiiirl, there is only one gay strip club worth its weight in baby oil right now, and that’s Remmington’s on Young Street.’

Although the actual destination of her legendary 'CD23' birthday shenanigans is as yet unconfirmed, Thursdays are ‘retro night’ at Remmington’s and Cara did (perhaps unintentionally) dress like a member of a 1990s boyband for the occasion in a vest top, boxer shorts, camo shirt and baseball cap… so it’s an educated guess.

As a fellow non hetro girl, I can vouch for the fact that gay male strip clubs are way more fun than female ones. I've shoved wads of sweaty dollar bills into muscly men's jockstraps at a bar in New York, and had real life Channing Tatums get grindy with me on the dance floor of clubs in London. But as Magic Mike XXL goes to show, there's something really empowering about turning the female gaze onto semi-naked men, even if, like me and Cara you've actually got a girlfriend.

I love that Cara’s pushing gender boundaries and saying TTFN to labels; a girl who likes girls dressing like a boy to watch hunky men strip for other men? Now, that’s something really worth celebrating!  Happy Birthday CD, fingers crossed for an invite next time.
