After momth's of speculation, and many predictions, today it was announced that the amazing Sam Smith has recorded the theme song to the next James Bond film, Spectre.

Yes, the singer has revealed on his Twitter, 'This is one of the highlights of my career. I am honoured to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song'.

Sam, one of ELLE's favourites, will be the first Brit singer to cover the opening credits since Tom Jones in 1965, adding to his excellent year after his appearance in the Balenciaga campaign. 

Following on from Adele, who recorded the intro for the last bond fim, Skyfall, Sam said it was hard keeping it a secret, and that the theme was written in 20 minutes. 

'I’m so relieved to actually talk about this', he said, 'this has been a top secret mission of my own.'

Well, now we know and we are delighted, and we can't wait to see the film.

Spectre will premiere in London on October 26.
