Their parents may be political rivals, but Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump's friendship has somehow managed to remain in tact. And if it's up to the former First Daughter, their relationship will always hold precedence over a silly little election.

"I'm really grateful Ivanka's my friend. She's a great woman. Friendship is always more important than politics," Chelsea tells People. "I learned that growing up, watching my parents be friends with people across the political spectrum in Arkansas."

Which is, in fact, exactly how she and Ivanka met each other in the first place. Before competing presidential campaigns brewed bad blood between Hillary and Donald, their families once got along in perfect bipartisan harmony.

Gone are the days of wedding invites and handsome donations to the Clinton Foundation. Instead, Donald has since deemed his Democratic opposer "the worst secretary of state in the history of the U.S.," with Hillary fighting back by telling MSNBC, "He is the candidate of being against [people]." Miraculously, their daughters have stayed out of the fray.

"She's always aware of everyone around her and ensuring that everyone is enjoying the moment," Chelsea told Vogue back in February. "There's nothing skin-deep about Ivanka."

Now if only there were a Chelsea/Ivanka ticket we could vote for. Fingers crossed for 2020, right?
