Women of Hollywood are sick of being asked nothing more than "who are you wearing?" on the red carpet—and they're ready to take action. While fashion has always been the centerfold of the red carpet scene, a new hashtag is giving actresses a chance at answering questions that delve a little deeper this awards season. Amy Poehler's Smart Girls Organization has partnered with both Twitter and the Television Academy for #SmartGirlsAsk—a campaign that lets Twitter users ask intellectually stimulating questions that go beyond designer credits. 

Although fashion will always remain prevalent on the red carpet, Poehler's initiative has already brought a breath of fresh air to tonight's Emmys red carpet conversation. Below, see some of the best, thought-provoking #SmartGirlsAsk questions posed by everyone from Shonda Rhimes to Hillary Clinton and more:
