Blake Lively’s lifestyle website Preserve has officially shut down after only a year of production.

On 30th September, Lively, 28, announced that she would be moving on to other projects. ‘We launched the site before it was ready, and it never caught up to its original mission: It’s not making a difference in people’s lives, whether superficially or in a meaningful way,’ she said.

Domestic goddess Martha Stewart, 74, is Lively’s friend and neighbour.  She advised her in the early stages of the project. On hearing about Lively’s company last year, Stewart told the Huffington Post, ‘I mean, it’s stupid, she could be an actress! Why would you want to be me if you could be an actress?’

Stewart spoke to Us Weekly about Preserve’s shutdown, saying, ‘I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I know she made a big effort. Sometimes shuttering is good.’ She added, ‘Listen, she's a movie actress. Why bother with commerce right now? She's at the top of her career... I'm totally supportive, but you know what? Maybe you can't do everything at the same time.’

Constructive advice or something else? You decide.
