The EP Of The Week:

Honne - Over Lover

Duo from London who have an EP out now called Over Lover.  Announced their biggest gig to date next year at Electric Ballroom on 3rd March. Awaiting news of debut album but from what i've heard and the 4 tracks on the EP it's just incredible. Loves The Jobs You Hate as the opening track with it's very obvious splattering of Stevie Wonders 'Isn't She Lovely.' is clever and subtle but very exciting.

The Album Of The Week:

Shamir - Ratchet

This has been out since May but I don’t think enough people know about him. I applaud his honesty in his lyrics and his total drive in his music, utterly infectious and fun with a real message for being true to yourself and not giving a shit about what anyone else thinks about you.

Video Of The Week:

Klyne - Closer

Whether you love or hate clowns there is something a little sinister about them. This is a fantastically simple video that fits the music perfectly. The choreography of the clown dancing after losing his balloons captures sadness, loss and expression quite brilliantly, it’s almost like a short film. Love it and the tune is ace. Out November 12th.

Gig Of The Week

White - Blush

I am so excited for this band from Glasgow. I saw them play a fantastic set this week at XOYO in London and they also played the reading and leeds BBC Introducing stage and it’s going to be a massive year for them next year. It’s dance music with guitars, my favourite. AND an awesome female drummer in Kirstin Lynn.
