Our two all time favourite comediennes, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, have made a bit of a Hollywood boo-boo. Their new film Sisters is set for UK cinema release on 18 December… The same day as Star Wars: The Force Awakens – arguably the most talked about film of 2015. So, rather than panic and hide, what have Tina and Amy done?
Yep, that’s right, they’ve spoofed the sci-fi film institution that is Star Wars in the Sisters trailer. And it’s hilarious. Titled Sisters: the Farce Awakens, the trailer documents the making of the pair’s new film, ripping off the Star Wars trailer shot-for-shot.
As Amy and Tina, who are both “a little drunk”, report in alarmingly realistic fake British accents: “It’s literally so exciting… This film means so much to so many people.”
With Maya Rudolph in a slightly inaccurate Chewbacca costume and a cameo from George Takei, this trailer is not to be missed. Just imagine how good the feature length is going to be!
