Cast your mind back a few weeks. Scroll through a few selfies. And there you'll find it: a photo on Khloé Kardashian's Instagram of a rather delicious looking dessert spread for the Kardashian Thanksgiving dinner. Showing three trays of cupcakes, monkey bread, and three pies, the photo inspired serious hunger pangs, and left a lot of people pretty impressed with Khloé's baking skills.

'I am sooooo proud of myself lol can I say that???', she wrote as the photo's caption. 'I filmed on a tripod, in my kitchen a lot of me baking and prepping for today so I will have that up on my app soon!!! I love testing myself and seeing what I can accomplish and actually make successfully! Now let's pray it tastes as great as they look! This monkey bread is going to be so fucking bomb.'

Which appears to imply that she made all of the delicious treats in the photo herself.

She then confirmed this with a tweet, after a lot of people said 'no WAY did you make all of that yumminess.'

And that seemed to be the end of it. We all returned to our usual daily lives, wondering if we, too, should be stacking biscuits in glass jars, but most unaffected by Khloé's pies.

UNTIL NOW. For the scandal of the century has come to light. Turns out that Khloé may not have made the pies she'd claimed as her own. Dun dun duuuuuun.

See, after promising cooking videos on her app, only one materialised: the baking process of the monkey bread. No lesson on the pies. Which seems innocent enough, and nothing to get all fired up over. But then new information emerged. TMZ claims that the pies are not in fact Khloé's creations. Instead they were bought ready-made from the Sweet Lady Jane bakery in LA.

The evidence? Well for one thing, that exact trio of pies - cherry, pecan, and pumpkin - are sold by the bakery. The pumpkin pie also has a rather distinctive maple leaf in the middle, which the bakery's owners say they create with a one-of-a-kind cookie cutter.

TMZ also references this photo - which was actually taken LAST Thanksgiving - also showing the maple leaf pie. Which could imply that she's just taken inspiration from Sweet Lady Jane's recipe, and has been perfecting it over the last twelve months. Maybe.

But to add to the pie drama, the manager of Sweet Lady Jane has now spoken to New York Daily News, and claims that Khloé's assistant paid $94 for the three pies. "'The nerve. When I saw the pies on her table I thought, "She has to be kidding me,"' she said. "'If she had given us credit, that would have been nice.'

Khloé's response, in short, is 'calm the eff down, everyone, they're just bloody pies.'

Either way, pies rhymes with lies, so this OBVIOUSLY a huge conspiracy that goes far deeper than Khloé's oven. We're sure the great minds of the world are working on a detailed pastry analysis as we speak. If they need taste-testers, they know where to find us. #PieGate.
