News has broken that Love Actually actor and everyone's favourite Harry Potter villain, Alan Rickman, has died aged 69-years-old.
It has been reported that the actor, whose cruelly charming portrayal of Severus Snape will haunt children for years to come, has fallen victim to his battle with cancer.
Many will have loved him for his roles in Die Hard, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Truly Madly Deeply and devoted theatre goers will have watched him regularly tread the boards on some of London's best stages.
Whichever you consider to be the talented actor's best work, one thing is for sure - Alan Rickman will live on in people's memories for decades to come.
