Video Of The Week

Ekkah - Small Talk

Get something glittery on along with your dancing shoes and let these girls nail the future of disco pop.  Album is coming later this year but in the meantime watch this and then try and see them out live supporting Mystery Jets in February.

Album Of The Week

Savages - Adore Life

I'm not sure there is anymore for me to say about Savages.  In a no pun intended way, I adore them.  Everything about them, music, style, attitude and overall approach the world of music. This is such a powerful video, has a ode to Smells Like Teenage Spirit for me.

Track (s) of the week

PJ Harvey - The Wheel

It's been way too long since her last album, the exquisitely honest and exhilarating Let England Shake,  5 years in fact.  The Hope Six Demolition Project is coming on April 15th along with a stack of festival performances, I've already had the calendar out to mark down all the weekends for them. Lead single The Wheel is out 19th February and it's fantastic.  The album is, as you'd expect such an interesting project that involved PJ traveling to Kosovo, Afghanistan, Washington DC then taking those experiences to record in an installation at London's Somerset House last year called 'Recording In Progress.'  With the help of her band and producers Flood and John Parish, we can now look forward to hearing the results of all their hard work, I can't bloody wait.
